our Story

Welcome to Ignotz Ristorante, a family-owned and operated Italian restaurant located in the heart of Chicago. Our story began in 1999 when we opened our doors with the goal of bringing traditional Italian cuisine to our community. Our restaurant is named after Joan's late father, Ignac Glavac, who taught us the value of hard work, dedication, and passion for cooking. His legacy lives on in every dish we serve.

Roger lived in the Heart of Chicago his whole life, always dreaming of opening his own restaurant. Through his passion, drive, and determination, he made this dream come true with his wife, Joan. Roger and Joan have three daughters who also work at Ignotz; Alexis, Olivia, and Isabella who are all featured on the menu!
